Judah D. Greenblatt has been involved in construction litigation, real estate transactions and commercial litigation his entire professional career. In 1986, Mr. Greenblatt joined McDonough, Marcus, Cohn & Tretter, LLC, where he maintained an active litigation practice, concentrating in construction litigation and general commercial litigation. Mr. Greenblatt became a member of that firm in 1994. In 1997, Mr. Greenblatt and Mr. Lesser co-founded Greenblatt, Softness & Lesser, LLP, a general practice firm with offices in New Jersey and New York. At Greenblatt, Softness & Lesser, LLP, he expanded his practice to include real estate transactions and general business transactional work. In 2005, Mr. Greenblatt and his long-time partner, Robert I. Lesser co-founded Paykin Greenblatt Lesser & Krieg LLC along with Joseph N. Paykin and Charles D. Krieg to expand the services offered to their clients to include Corporate Law and Commercial Transactions. In 2007, Mssrs. Greenblatt and Lesser formed Greenblatt Lesser LLP to concentrate exclusively on the areas they had long been engaged in.

Mr. Greenblatt has successfully tried cases in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey and New York. Some of Mr. Greenblatt’s recent successes include obtaining: a $568,859 verdict including $161,889 in attorney fees in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey on behalf of an owner of real estate against a general contractor after a two-week trial involving site work; a $10,596,296 judgment in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, affirmed on appeal by the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, on behalf of a subcontractor against a general contractor after a five-week bifurcated trial involving contract claims for mobilization, direct costs and lost profits arising from a wrongful termination from a public construction project; a $70,000 settlement on the last day of a three-day trial before the Board of Public Utilities in a utility extension case; a defense verdict in Superior Court of the State of New Jersey after a week and a half trial on behalf of an owner sued for $465,000 on a custom finishes construction case; a $335,000 construction arbitration award before the American Arbitration Association on behalf of a subcontractor against a general contractor and owner for site work; a $850,000 settlement in Superior Court of New Jersey at the close of discovery of a property damage claim by an insured against an insurer for denial of coverage and against a broker for inadequate coverage; a dismissal on motions, after being substituted in to replace prior counsel, affirmed by several decisions of the Appellate Division, First Department, of a $2,601,144 judgment in the Supreme Court of the State of New York by a construction manager against a trade contractor for subrogation of a judgment arising from an on-site construction injury due to a free-falling elevator; and a $427,600 jury verdict in Superior Court of New Jersey after a week-long trial in a construction defect and coverage dispute on behalf of an Owner of property.

Mr. Greenblatt is a 1981 graduate of Rutgers University’s Rutgers College and a 1984 graduate of American University’s Washington College of Law. He received his licenses to practice law in the State Courts of New Jersey and New York in 1985 and in the State Court of Connecticut in 1994. Mr. Greenblatt also received licenses to practice in the Federal Courts for the District of New Jersey in 1985, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1986, Eastern District of Michigan in 2004, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1997 and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2002.
